Sowing:
Sow from late winter to early summer 1/16 inch deep in a good seed compost. Make sure the compost is moist but not wet and seal inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 21-30 days at 65-75F.
Growing:
Transplant when large enough to handle into 3 inch pots.
Aftercare:
Later plant out 12 inches apart into moist but well drained soil in full sun. Seed sown early will often flower the same season. D. cardinale is a short lived perennial.
