Strawberry seeds: Temptation

A seed raised stawberry with a tangy, richly aromatic, juicy sweet flavor. Better still it is both earlier and produces more and larger strawberries than any other seed strain continuously from July to frosts. This makes the annual growing of strawberries in container or beds (similar to the growing of tomatoes or peppers) a better and easy way to grow them. From an autumn sowing they look fantastic in a hanging basket the following summer and in grow bags and containers the compact, procumbent habit of 'TEMPTATION' combines a very decorative method of growing with easy of picking and luscious looks.

Sowing:

Sow indoors in late winter for fruiting the same season and preferably in autumn for hanging baskets. Surface sow & don't cover the seed with compost. Enclose in a polythene bag until germination takes place (about a month.) Provide a maximum temperature of 15-18C (60-65F), widely fluctuating temperatures will adversely affect germination.

No runners needed - suitable for baskets & containers. Grow juicy berries in the first season.

Growing:

Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into boxed, grow cool and well lit and later transfer to 7.5cm (3in) pots. In early spring, harden off and plant into final pots, baskets, containers or outdoors in ordinary garden soil and full sun. Temptation is a runnerless type, however it may produce an occasional runner and these should be removed.

Approx. 60 days from transplanting to harvest.
