Cabbage Green Valley
This premier variety heralds a new era for the flavor of cabbage. Tightly packed, creamy-yellow hearts of crisp leaves which have a butter-like flavor peppered with a hint of spice. Versatile to any season and cropping around 65 days from transplanting. The medium-large heads hold well in the ground and are slow to crack. It's compact habit makes it ideal for smaller kitchen gardens.

Type/hardiness: Vegetable; Cropping in 65 Days (All Year)

Sowing:
Sow under glass in February to March 1/16in deep in good seed compost. Germination takes 4-10 days at 65-70F.

Sowing can also be made outdoors in a well-raked seed bed in March to April. Sow thinly ½in deep in rows 9 inches apart. Keep the soil moist until germination. Transplant 24 inches apart at the 5-6 leaf stage in good, firm, soil. Before planting, rake in 3oz sq. yd of a balanced fertilizer.

Growing:
Transplant when large enough to handle into boxes 2 inches apart. Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out in April to May, 24 x 24 inches apart. Water in dry weather and give liquid feed as the heads start to develop. Harvest in July-August.
Aftercare:
To avoid the danger of Clubroot grow your Brassicas in a different site each year so that they only occupy the same spot once in four years.
