Blackberry Lily Leopard Mixed
An unusual perennial for the warm sunny border with sword like rich green leaves and clusters of delightfully speckled flowers, for the first time offered in a wide range of colors. In the fall the seed pods burst to reveal clusters of black seeds like blackberries. Will flower in its first summer from a late winter sowing. Flowers early summer. Height 36-40 inches.

Sowing:
Sow in late winter/early spring in a good seed compost just covering the seed with compost and gently firm down. Keep soil damp but not wet. Sealing in a polythene bag after sowing is helpful. Germination usually takes 14-60 days at 68-86F.
Growing:
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3 inch pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 12 inches apart in a sunny sheltered spot on light well drained soil.
Aftercare:
In cold areas protect the roots with a thick mulch of leaves, bracken etc.
