Pepper Golden Bell
An impressive sweet pepper with an open habit and good fruit setting. The blocky fruits start green and mature to bright yellow. Delicious in stir-frys etc. and giving an extra splash of color to salads.

Type/hardiness: Vegetable

Sowing:
Sow in early spring in a good compost and barely cover the seed. Germ. usually takes 8-14 days at 75-80F.
Growing:
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 3 inch pots and finally into 8 inch pots or growbags if to be grown under glass. Outdoor plants should be gradually acclimatized to end of springtime weather, and planted out in early summer 24 x 36 inches apart in moist well drained soil in a sunny sheltered spot.
Aftercare:
Aim to provide a night temp. of between 60-75F otherwise fruit setting may be poor. Likewise aim to keep daytime temperature around 75F for best results. As the flowers form make sure the compost is always evenly moist. Give a weak application of fertilizer as the blossoms open and water in well. To ensure continued cropping, pick the fruit as soon as they start to colour and ripen off the plant. Golden Bell starts green and can be picked and eaten at, this stage or when it has completely changed colour.
