Sunflower Sunspot
Sunspot is a unique new sunflower producing huge heads of single golden yellow flowers on dwarf stocky plants only 16 inches tall! Ideal for brightening up beds and borders and perfect in tubs, containers etc. A must for children who will find great delight in growing them and also providing a ready supply of seeds in the Fall to bring the birds to your garden.

Height: 24 inches; Type/hardiness: Hardy Annual; Prefers full sun; Flowers: Summer

Sowing:
Sow early spring to early summer outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow ½ inch deep in rows 12 inches apart. Germination usually takes around 21 days. The seed can also be sown indoors in early spring for earlier flowers. Sow the seed individually in 3 inch pots. Germination takes 1-2 weeks at 70F.
Growing:
When large enough to handle, thin out the seedlings to 12 inches apart. For indoor sowing, gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost has gone.
Aftercare:
They prefer a sunny open site but will grow in most soils.
