Cosmos Psyche

Semi-double and single, large, waved, upright blooms distinct and charming. 80% true from seed as they can make fine cut flowers and can also be used as summer flowering pot plants for the cold greenhouse. Flowers summer to fall.

Height: 36 inches; Type/hardiness: Half-hardy Annual; Prefers full sun; Flowers: Summer to Fall.

Sowing:

Sow 1/8 inch deep in spring at 70-74F in a good seed compost. Keep soil damp but not wet, sealing in a polythene bag after sowing is helpful. Germination usually takes 5-10 days.

Growing:

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 24 inches apart.

Aftercare:

Plant in a sunny spot on light well drained soil. For pot plants, transplant the seedlings into 3 inch pots, grow cool, well ventilated and give plenty of light, but shade from direct sun.
