- Squash Winter Festival
- A decorative small-fruited Squash with a marbled outer skin encasing sweet, nutty flavored, pale orange flesh. The trailing vines play host to fruits of about 1˝lb, which are also good for long term storage. Sweet flesh with a delicate nutty flavor. Ideal for roasting and baking.
Type/hardiness: Vegetable; Cropping in 120 Days - August onwards
- Sowing:
- Sow April to May. Sow in 3 inch pots at 68-77F of a good free draining, damp seed compost, ˝ inch deep. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which takes 7-10 days.
- Growing:
- Growing instructions Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 7-10 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 36 inches apart. Can also be sown direct outdoors once the soil has warmed. Sow 2 seeds every 36 inches and later thin out to the strongest seedling.
- Aftercare:
- Prefers well drained, moist, rich soil in full sun.
