Lettuce Chartwell

The tastiest of all the Romaine lettuces we have ever trialled. Renowned for their crunchy texture and the sweetest flavour. Excellent downy mildew resistance, with good bolting tolerance and heart quality during hotter summer conditions. Ideal for spring and summer sowings. Suitable for cut and come again, baby leaf or mature hearts.

Sowing:

Sow thinly at regular intervals, ½ in deep in drills 12-15in apart.

Growing:

Thin seedlings to 12in apart for full hearted lettuce or to 6in for 'baby leaf' or 'cut and come again' salad.

Aftercare:

Water well during dry periods.
