Lettuce : Butterhead : All The Year Round
This is a good variety for sowing at any time. It is slow to run to seed and will continuously provide you with compact, crisp, well-flavored lettuces.
Sowing:
Sow thinly from spring to mid summer 1/4 inch deep in drills 15 inches apart. A moist well drained soil which has had plenty of compost during the previous Fall is best. In very hot weather it is best to water the soil before sowing and to make sowings during the early afternoon.
Growing:
Thin out gradually to 12 inches apart.
Aftercare:
Harvest when the head feels firm when gently pressed. Sow in early Fall for overwintering.
