- Pepper. Jingle Bells (Mini)
- The earliest maturing pepper we know. Ideal for containers or limited space. Loads of miniature sweet bell peppers, up to 1½in diameter. Fruits turn red when mature and are delicious in salads, stir fries or stuffed and popped under the grill for a couple of minutes. Scrumptious!
- Sowing:
- Sow early spring in good compost and barely cover seed. Germination usually takes 8-14 days at 75-80F. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 5in pots and finally 8in pots if required. Grow on in a greenhouse or conservatory.
- Growing:
- Gradually acclimatise outdoor plants to end of spring weather and place pots out of doors or plant 12x12in apart in moist, well drained soil in a sunny sheltered spot after all risk of frost. Under glass provide a night temp between 60-75F or fruit setting may be poor. Likewise keep daytime temp around 75F. As flowers form ensure the compost is always evenly moist. Don't fertilize until in final container and give regular well balanced liquid feed once roots have reached the pot's edge. Substitute for a high potash feed after flowering.
- Aftercare:
- To ensure continued cropping, pick the fruit as soon as they are ready (1½ x 1½).
