Gourd Ornamental Jim Jams

An all encompassing mixture of easy to grow Gourds: small, large, pure colors, striped, mottled - every shape and color imaginable. Superb fall decorations when few fresh flowers are available. Non edible trailer. Harvest early fall.

Type/hardiness: Half-hardy Annual Climber; Flowers: Fruits September/October

Sowing:

Sow in early spring ¼ inch deep in a good compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 10-14 days at 75-80F.

Growing:

Transplant when large enough to handle into 3 inch pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost 24 inches apart.

Aftercare:

They prefer a well sheltered spot in deep rich soil but will grow well in most parts of the garden.
