Myosotis sylvatica Rosylva
Something a little different from traditional blue. Compact and uniform plants smothered with large flowers of clear pink.
Sowing:
Sow indoors in February-March or outdoors from May - June. Indoors, sow very thinly in a good seed compost and just cover the seed. Germination takes 14-20 days at 18-20C (65-70F).
Growing:
Transplant into boxes when large enough to handle, grow cool and well lit. Later harden off and plant out 15cm (6in) apart. Outdoors, prepare a seed bed and sow thinly 6mm (žin) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the soil moist until the seedlings are well through. When large enough to handle thin out or transplant to 10cm (4in) apart, plant out 15cm (6in) apart in their flowering site in September/October. Rosylva will grow in any good garden soil and position but is best in part shade and a rich moist soil.
