- Vegetable Spagettii. Tivoli F1 Hybrid
- The first bush spaghetti squash producing several white medium/large fruits. Cut in half, boil for 5 minutes and the inside comes away just like spaghetti. Sweet, mild crunchy flavour excellent in stir fries and salads.
- Sowing:
- Sow April to May in pots of moist seed compost and cover with a ½in layer of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between 68-77F. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 6 - 10 days.
- Growing:
- When at the 2 leaf stage, transplant seedlings on into 5in pots for a few weeks before planting out, 36in apart in a sunny sheltered spot on rich, well drained soil. Water and feed regularly with liquid fertiliser.
- Aftercare:
- May initially produce male flowers only, however female blooms will follow in due course. Harvest football sized fruits from late August onwards. Harvest remaining fruits before frosts and store in a cool, frost-free area.
